1932SummerA American Woodcock's nest was found at Fc.1rt Snelling by Ill'. Da'l!JSon of the Zoology Departr.:.ent. The location was marked, and the nest was visited and photographed many t:ll1es bymmy people in the next three weeks. The :~a.tience of the bird was certainly put to a hard test, but i ·t did not fail. Altho one rainy day Donald Fischer found the eggs wet and cold, and one of thcLl cracked, the bird returned to the nest, and on May 13 all 4 eggs hatched. The first record I have of the nest being seen is on M<=ly 11 when it was visited by Suanson and Risser.
1934Summer '!'he only nest reported for this bird was that found by Ho.rius Morse ~thin the city linuts of Cloquet. It conta~ned 4~lggs. On June 9th Evans found one fru:1ily of six \1/oodcocks, includ:Lnc four largo young only slightly smaller than tho adults, and a:nothcr frunily of one adult o.nd two rather laree downy younG. These i•wo families -were not a quarter of a mile hp:lrt, but we:t-e nearly a uile i'rou -the place where vloodcocks are cor.monly observed courting. The flicker, 1934 -P.JS
1936Summer No records for Minnesota were submitted, but Kenneth Carlander, Donald Hobbs and Robert Turner reported a nest which vras built on the \fisconsin side of the Taylor1s Falls Inter-state Park. The bird-chasers flushed an adult from tho nest of tvm Gggs.
1938SummerAn adult and 3 you~g of this elusive shore bird were seen on May 2I, by Mrs. W. C. Olin and Mrs. W arnosky as the birds crossed a road at Duluth.

1961SpringDr. Ward Tanner reported that American American Woodcock were feeding in Dr. Charles Hamrun's back yard at St. Peter. A student of P. B. Hofslund's found one dead at Duluth on 8 April. R. Janssen and Brother Theodore saw one near Chaska, Carver County on 20 May.
1961SummerSeen in Carlton County by H. Huber, Cass County by R. Huber, and Wadena County by R. Oehlenschlager, all on 26 August.
1961FallAvifaunal Club members saw two in Carlton County, just south of Duluth on 2 Sep. R. Oehlenschlager saw one on 19 Sep. in Cass County, about 10 miles northeast of Nimrod, Wadena County. Gordon Gullion reported five in Cloquet Forest Research Center on 12 Oct. and R. Huber saw one 28 Oct. near Virginia, St. Louis County.
